Connecting globally: Next Generation Network

Main visual : Connecting globally: Next Generation Network

Last year, Oceania participated in Fujitsu’s first ever Global Next Generation Connect Program. The program ran for five months, from August 2020 through to December 2020. We had over 90 colleagues from across Europe and Oceania in attendance - many of which were at different stages of their careers.

The idea for a Global Connect Program originated from a discussion on how we can foster better global co-operation between regions. Why not form a platform where colleagues from across the globe can connect, learn and share ideas?

As part of the Global Connect Program, participants were grouped into teams of four and were given a monthly topic of discussion to facilitate their networking opportunity with the global colleagues. Some topics included Fujitsu Forum, global collaboration, work life shift/balance, mentoring and communication.

Overall, the program was a great success and participants enjoyed the opportunity to connect with their colleagues from various regions around the world. Hear from some of the participants on how the program went.

It was a great experience. Very insightful to learn about the differences across the border. It would be awesome to continue with aligning colleagues cross-country to improve Fujitsu overall.

Great Britain, Germany, New Zealand – different time zones, differences in the organization but yet so much in common. We had a great group and a great exchange about different topics (e.g. Digital events, training and mentoring options) as well as personal conversations. For me, the Next Gen Global Connect Program is a great way to get to know colleagues from different countries with a similar mindset.

Nathalie Stoll, Product Manager, Fujitsu Germany

Thank you Next Gen team for organizing this great initiative. I really enjoyed to connect with some of my international next gen colleagues to be able to talk about certain topics and share experiences regarding these. It is very interesting and you can adopt ideas and learn from each other. #BeFujitsu #Reimagineyourbusiness

I found the experience was generally quite positive, while we did have some issues with timings (2 of my group are from Germany, 1 from UK). It was good to see within Fujitsu what is done differently & also similar in other countries, also learning more about how cultures differ & what common ground they may have.

James Cope, Team Leader Gateway Operations, Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand

Round two is proposed to launch in FY21. Participating regions include Oceania, North Western Europe, Central Eastern Europe, Fujitsu North America and Fujitsu Japan.
